There are kids all over this place! Just down the hill from the monastery is a Tibetan Bönpo school for boys and girls of all ages. I see them all the time in their little sweater uniforms and the monastery is constantly inundated with the sounds of playing and singing in unison. A number of them are orphans and live either in the boys’ dorm at the edge of the monastery or in the girls’ dorm down by the school. Some of the boys are also monks.
